Gypsy Rose Australia’s Hairspray is enriched with essential oils & apple cider vinegar to naturally style your hair. Also without any of the ingredients that can be harmful to your health, the environment and your scalp. Consequently will then also work to actively protect your hair against sun and environmental damage.

Almost all haircare, skincare and makeup products are formulated with layering in mind. Hence with hair products, the result can be sticky, crunchy, drying and even damaging. As a result product buildup occurs, which is essentially a film of residue on the hair and scalp. Therefore finally leading to a flaky powder on the surface of scalp and the hair shaft. Due to this you almost always end with  dehydrated locks and split midlengths/ends.

Frequently Asked Questions

QUESTION: Why has the product changed in appearance?
ANSWER:

The look of the product will not affect its performance. Gypsy Rose Hairspray is an all natural product and its ever changing appearance in terms of ingredient separation, scent or colour is completely normal. It is a pure, fermented and unique formula of ingredients. 

The product is made using pure apple cider vinegar that is unfiltered and still retains the “mother” and the “sediment” – this is why the product will change with the season. In winter it will coagulate and thicken, in summer it separates and turns a cloudy white. To return your product to its “normal” state, simply shake to emulsify the ingredients. In Winter it may thicken slightly, you can put in sun, or pot hot water to thin out, or in the extreme cold you can add max 20 ml hot water.

QUESTION: My pump has blocked – what should I do?
ANSWER:

If your pump blocks, pull out the pipe and soak both nozzle and pipe in very hot water. If however, your pump is faulty, we are very happy to send you a new one if the previous instruction does not work.

 QUESTION: Will the colour of this product change the colour of blonde hair?
ANSWER:

The orange essential oil in the product- when used as a texturiser regularly (spray close) will give light whiter blondes (mainly levels 9 to 10 shades) a temporary honey gold tone until you shampoo again. Our ‘2 in 1 shampoo’ will remove this each time you shampoo and it’s not a permanent colour stain. To avoid this- shampoo more regularly &/or rinse out in warm water prior to restyling. It is known other shades of warm blondes to enhance foil highlights lifting and refreshing the look!

QUESTION: Why do you use gelatine in the hairspray and is it of animal origin?
ANSWER:

All of our products are not tested on animals – the hairspray is the only product we make that has an ingredient of animal origin.

The Gelatine we use is of ‘A Grade food level’, it is derived from beef skin. It is produced from the hides  outer edges that is normally discarded after the bulk of hide is taken for use for leather goods and clothing etc. In turn it has become a recycled bi-product ie. recycling a normally discarded part (if your wearing leather shoes or clothes its not a recycled bi-product).

If we could use a non animal ingredient that worked across the board as good, we would! So far nothing we have tried is deemed as sustainably viable, readily available with a positive footprint that isnt depleting those ingredients resources.

Our product works amazingly well and is extremely popular with customers who have trouble with the overpowering aerosols and smells, compare our ingredients list to most other hairsprays and styling aids and you will see it is the most pure, cleanist list available.

Instructions for Use

PLEASE NOTE: This is a CONCENTRATED FORMULA due to the orange, lime and lemon essential oils – Keep out of the reach of children –  May cause allergic reactions, please seek medical advice. You can add extra filtered water to weaken the strength and scent.

As a Hairspray/Hairstyler

1. To get the full benefit of citrus scents and distribution of the whole formula you must continue to shake immediately before every spray.
2. Shake and spray 1 light mist layer over head. 
3. WAIT 30 seconds in between layers to seal over and dry. 
4. Repeat for a firmer hold. 
   To check firmness – wait 30 seconds and then lightly place your open palm on hair to feel if it is firm enough (you should feel a veil/web type effect)
5. No need to wash out the next day, if need be, simply repeat the restyle again daily.

As a Quickset – no blowdry needed

1. To get the full benefit of citrus scents and distribution of the whole formula you must continue to shake immediately before every spray.
2. On clean towel dried/damp hair spray thoroughly all through hair roots to ends (minimum 6 sprays) Don’t hesitate in spraying too much as it is water-based and very forgiving. 
3. Style as usual with your comb or brush. 
4. Leave your hair to dry naturally in place until it feels dry/stiff.
5. Restyle as usual with your comb or brush for a blow dried look with volume. 
6. You can then use the product as hairspray and/or texturiser to finish style. 
7. No need to wash out the next day, if need be, simply repeat the restyle again daily.

As a Texturiser (replaces mousse or gel)

1. To get the full benefit of citrus scents and distribution of the whole formula you must continue to shake immediately before every spray.
2. Spray close on dry hair.
3. FOR A STYLE WITH HEIGHT: Lifting hair midlengths, ends and roots up as you spray through hair.
4. FOR A STYLE WITH WAVE AND CURL: Spray product close to desired area, moistening hair and then use fingers to separate or scrunch the area.
5. FOR A STRAIGHT STYLE:  Please use our ‘All Round Body Top to Toe’ or ‘Leave-in Conditioner’ products. Both suitable for straightening iron.
6. No need to wash out the next day, if need be, simply repeat the restyle again daily.

As a Pre Blowdrying Aid

Protects and softens without changing your normal volume. 

1. To get the full benefit of citrus scents and distribution of the whole formula you must continue to shake immediately before every spray.
2. Spray a minimum of 6 sprays on clean towel dried, damp hair all over from roots to ends. 
3. Blowdry as usual and will suffice as a heat protector. 
4. Don’t be afraid of spraying too much as it is water-based and brushes out easily leaving a shine.
5. No need to wash out the next day, if need be, simply repeat the restyle again daily.
